Just finished watching the whole award show (of course with fast forwarding :P) but I guess what make me the happiest is the fact that the Jangs won MBC Best Couple award. Not that I question their chemistry since honestly, they have like one of the best chemistry I have ever seen in my years of watching Kdramas but these award shows usually award dramas with high ratings so for the netizen to choose them out of the other couples made me so happy. I always think MBC best couple is more prestigious than KBS since MBC only award one couple while KBS 5 couples. I wanted them so bad to win it and they did! ;_;

I'm so proud of Jang Hyuk too for bagging Top Excellent Award for Miniseries. I'm nervous about his winning since he is against some really tough competition and previous Daesang winners; Shin Hakyun & Kim Myungmin. And to win against them and Gam Woosung is just an honour since all these are really some of the very best actors in the industry. And Jang Nara is soo cute with her crying. Her Top Excellent Award is a sure win in my opinion but the fact that she cried the whole of her long winning speech shows how grateful she was for it.

All in all I'm just glad my fave drama of the year got the recognition that they deserved. The ratings when the drama was aired is very disappointing for the quality that it has to offer but for MBC to award it in the end just make me a happy fangirl.

I think the biggest shock of the award show is how the second girl in Jang Bori won the Daesang. :O If any evil character-actress should win a Daesang, in should be Lee Soyeon and her string of evil characters.

Opening

Year: 2007

Synopsis:

The drama is about a mother and her young HIV daugther and how their life change after a troubled doctor entered their life.

Cast

Jang Hyuk as Min Gi Suh
Gong Hyo Jin as Young Shin

Review:

I really like this writer since she has written some amazing Kdramas in the past but something is lacking in this one that left me unsatisfied. I felt that this drama is well written and it address the prejudice and misconception about HIV really well -- lovable characters and hilarious at times (esp involving the Grandpa who keep calling everyone 'Hyung') but I felt the love between the leads are too one sided.

Here we have both sad and suffering male and female leads but I felt the storyline is more unfair towards the male lead. Yes, we can see how he fell in love with her but all these a merely a kindness that she showed to everybody that she meets. She rejected him many times and refused to even say goodbye (a little courtesy, no?) and even when he asked her to stay, she refused. I felt that its too one sided and unfair since after all, he pretty much sacrifice everything to be with her. And is it really necessary for the writer to wait one year to let them see each other again? I would prefer them to be just friends since to let him have this much feelings for her but not seeing it being returned is just plain unfair.

Shoes

But despite my dissaticsaction, the overall storyline is good. I like the relationship between the female lead and her daughter. And here, it showed how mothers willing to sacrice everything for their chidlren even their own happiness.

The ending was bittersweet. I've seen better dramas from Lee Kyung Hee but this one doesn't dissapoint either. Seeing how cool Jang Hyuk is as a doctor, I wish he will act as a doctor one day!

Old Goodbye

Year: 2014

Synopsis:

A time-travelling drama about a man who goes back to the past in an attempt to save his ex-wife from dying from her illness. While doing so, he create and relieve their memories together despite the cruel and unchanged fate that awaits them in the end.

Casts:

Jang Hyuk as Kang Soo Hyuk
Jang Nara as Han Chae Hee

Review:

I absolutely love this drama! I love how the drama didn't feel rushed and there's so many things happened in the span of one hour. As usual, the Jangs were awesome in their respective roles and I didn't see either Gun or Mi Young in their characters -- just Soo Hyuk and Chae Hee. I thought the short drama is very well written with a few surprises and twists -- how the writer managed to squeze all of that in less than 65 minutes and maintain the pace of the drama is beyond me tbh.

By the end of the drama, I find myself shed tears for both of them. Despite the sad ending (and another Jang Hyuk drama where he died in the end >.>), I love how creative they made the ending. Both of them tried to save each other and ended up repeating the cycle of going back to the past (judging from Chae Hee's polaroid pictures at the end, it's been 7 years of the same cycle -- starting from year 2008 to 2013). It's kind of sad when you think about it but at least Chae Hee got what she wished for -- someone who stay by her side as long as she lived and someone who stay by her side no matter what happened. She tried to push him away but he ended up coming back to her and tried to save her again and again even if it meant sacrificing his own life.

A beautiful drama despite the sad ending. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoy a short drama that fulfilled and left you satisfied even if you are not the fan of the actors.

SHINee

I'm so proud! I can't never said this kind of thing without appear to be biased but this kind of statement always make me damn proud to be a SHINee's fan. :D

People always constantly said how emotionless Taem is so now I think its not that case anymore.
